Vote NO on Question 1 and Let Maine's historic Tax Reform Go Into Effect

The 2009 Tax Reform law is a good idea...let's keep it.

• The law cuts Maine's high income tax (almost all of it paid by Mainers).
  
  But only the rich have to worry about income tax...right?
  

• Maine's low lodging tax (much of it paid by visitors) is raised.
  
  But visitors won't come if we raise our hotel tax!
  
• Tax Reform gives Mainers a $70 million saving in income tax but adds only $50 million to what they pay in higher lodging taxes. Visitors to the state end up paying $20 million more than in the past.
  
• Tax Reform also stabilizes state revenue during swings of the economy by extending our low 5% sales tax to additional items.
  What do you mean..."low"?
  
• Tax Reform is "Revenue Neutral" - it brings in the same amount of revenue as the old tax structure.
