Tax Reform gives Mainers a $70 million saving
in income tax but adds only $50 million to what they pay in higher lodging
taxes. Visitors to the state end up paying $20 million more than in the past.
Tax Reform also stabilizes state revenue during swings of
the economy by extending our low 5% sales tax to additional
items.
What do you mean..."low"?
Tax Reform is "Revenue Neutral"
- it brings in the same amount of revenue as the old tax structure.
